These two books are basic, no-nonsense and well illustrated how-to manuals. Many of the preservation enclosures described are too time-consuming to make in-house. A great
variety of containers can now be purchased ready-made from archival suppliers.

This classic is out-of-print but available in many libraries. Many of the repair methods taught in this course have their origins in the three books listed above.

Many conservation labs' book repair techniques, some refined, others less so. It is aimed at conservation departments with some experienced staff. Many repair procedures
are approached differently, and the uninitiated may have a hard time selecting among the different techniques.

This is actually a collection of most of the Technical Leaflets issued by NEDCC. They are divided into six sections: Planning and Prioritizing, The Environment,

A sensible approach, it covers Temperature and Relative Humidity, Light, Air Quality, Mold and Pest Control, Preventing Physical Damage. Part II deals with Assessing the
Needs of Collections.

Section I discusses Factors Potentially Harmful to Paper, Section II covers procedures. Some of these require more expertise than others.
Dolloff, Francis, and Perkinson, Roy, How to Care for Works of Art on Paper. Boston, Museum of Fine Arts, 1985.
This elegant pamphlet is old but contains a lot of very good information including a brief history of papermaking.
